Meg Clifton
Meg Clifton has been a staunch advocate and member of the jazz community since 1997, when she moved to Philadelphia from Lewes, Delaware. A performer and recording artist, she was a regular at Chris’s Jazz Café and SOUTH Restaurant and Jazz Club while simultaneously teaching for ten years at the university level.
Music has the ability to bring communities together, opening listeners’ hearts and minds to possibilities they didn’t know existed. The same can be said of museums, where she has worked for over two decades. Currently serving as the Director of Development at the Independence Seaport Museum; previous jobs were held at The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University and Please Touch Museum. Meg is most proud of the fact that no matter where her career has taken her, she never lost her commitment to jazz, and she’s been able to blend those two areas of her professional life together to form a perfect harmony.
A graduate of The University of the Arts with a Master’s in Jazz Studies and an undergraduate degree in vocal performance, Meg also holds a Master’s of Arts Administration from Drexel University with a focus on Museum Studies.
