THE PEACEFUL SIDE OF BILLY STRAYHORN is a live concert celebrating the 61st anniversary of Strayhorn’s seminal studio album The Peaceful Side, recorded over two sessions in Paris, France in May of 1961, originally released on United Artists Jazz in 1963, then reissued by Solid State in 1968 as The Peaceful Side of Billy Strayhorn.

The evening features vocalist, pianist, recording artist, composer and educator V. SHAYNE FREDERICK performing original arrangements and contemporary reinterpretations of the 10-song album:

V. Shayne Frederick will be joined by a talented group of guest artists (TBA), including featured violinist, background vocalists and professional dancers, contributing to what promises to be a dynamic and entertaining celebration of Billy Strayhorn and the 61st anniversary of The Peaceful Side album.
