Remembering John Coltrane: Reading, Panel and Open Mic Jam
To honor the 100th anniversary of John Coltrane’s birth (September 23, 1926), the Coltrane Estate launched “Coltrane 100,” a year-long global celebration. The centennial highlights a massive schedule of catalog reissues, symphonic performances, and tribute concerts worldwide. Join the celebration at a special events and submission to a poetry anthology inspired by Coltrane.
This is the first of a three part series of Coltrane centennial programming, join us as we reflect and respond to the jazz giant’s legacy. Featuring saxophonist Elliott Levine, percussionist Karen Smith and scholar Anyabwile Love, ring in Coltrane’s birthday at Fergies with a panel discussion, reading and a live music backed open mic.
